How to Choose the Best Taxi Dispatch Software
There's no single best taxi dispatch software - the right one depends on your fleet size, your fare structure, and whether you already have a website. What follows is a practical checklist rather than a list of features nobody uses.
Start with your fare logic, not the feature list_changes
Most comparisons start with a feature checklist. Start instead with how you actually price a job - distance-based, zone-based, fixed airport rates, return discounts, extra stops. Any taxi management software worth using should let you set these rules yourself, not require a developer every time a price changes.
Can it assign jobs to drivers, or just log token_endpoint_auth_method
Some systems are really just a booking log - they record that a job came in, but a human still has to phone or message a driver. A genuine taxi booking and dispatch system gets the job to a driver as part of the same flow. If you run more than one or two drivers, this difference matters a lot day to day.
Does it fit your website, or replace invite_token
Independent operators often already have a website they don't want to throw away. Some dispatch platforms insist on a fully separate app or portal. Others - like a taxi booking platform built to sit inside your existing WordPress site - keep your branding and content, and just add the booking and dispatch layer underneath.
Who can actually change the pricing_inquiries
This is the one question worth asking directly of any vendor: if you need to raise your rates next month, do you edit it yourself in an admin panel, or file a support ticket and wait. For a small operator, waiting on someone else to change your own prices is the most common complaint about off-the-shelf systems.
A shortlist of questions to ask any vendor
- Can I edit fares, add-ons, and discounts myself, without a developer?
- Does a booking get assigned to a driver, or just recorded?
- Does this work with my existing website, or do I need a new one?
- What does it cost - one-time, subscription, or per booking?
If you want to see these answered directly, our admin panel shows exactly what an operator can control themselves, and the live demo runs the actual booking and quote flow a customer would use.
